Tignes is one of the highest ski resorts in Europe, second only to Val Thorens. That means guaranteed snow and unique slopes during your ski holiday to France. It is a modern ski resort divided into several districts: Val Claret (2100m), the sunny Le Lac (2100m), Lavachet (2000m), the cosy village of Les Brévières (1550m) and Les Boisses (1850m). Le Lac and Val Claret are the largest and therefore most known of the four. Le Lac is, as its name suggests, in a beautiful location by the lake. Val Claret is higher up and is the liveliest district in Tignes, great for an evening of après-ski fun.
Drag- and chairlifts connect all four districts to the Tignes ski area. Val Claret in particular is surrounded by beautiful, wide slopes. Several lifts also depart from Val Claret and Le Lac to Toviere and Col de Fresse, where you can venture into the Val d'Isère ski area. The Tignes districts are interconnected by free shuttle buses.
You can also have a great time in Tignes off the slopes. If you like to stay active, there’s a wide choice of activities to choose from, including squash, swimming, tennis, and the gym. Tignes also has many excellent restaurants, where you can try raclette, fondue, and other specialities from the Savoie region.
Tignes-Val d'Isère (formerly L'Espace Killy) is a high ski area that combines the Tignes and Val d'Isère resorts. It offers 300 kilometres of slopes and an altitude range of over 1600 metres, giving you challenging and snow-sure slopes of a quality that you won’t find anywhere else.
Beginner skiers will feel right at home on the 147 kilometres of blue slopes, but this ski area is particularly popular with advanced skiers. There are almost 70 red and black slopes in total and a wide range of challenging off-piste descents. Snowboarders can enjoy themselves at the DC Park, a large snowpark in the Tignes ski area where you can even watch back footage of your jumps to perfect your technique. With the ski pass included in your Sunweb holiday package, you can explore without limits through the whole Tignes-Val d'Isère ski area.
Looking for a ski-in, ski-out hotel for your holiday to Tignes or a luxurious chalet with space for the whole family? There is plenty of accommodation to choose from in Tignes no matter what your requirements are. Even if you book a last-minute ski package, you’ll have a wide selection to choose from when you book with Sunweb.
