Skiing in Serre Chevalier Vallée

The ski area of Serre Chevalier Vallée in France has only gained in popularity in recent years, and we can understand why. This ski area has 250km of slopes to discover and 65 ski lifts, taking you from peak to peak with ease. To make sure that there is always plenty of snow regardless of the snow forecast, there are strategically placed snow cannons on 80km of its slopes. Every year, Serre Chevalier invests into new lifts and faster connections. The highest point of in the area is at Telesiege Yret, 2800 metres above sea level. One special characteristic of this ski area is that its tree line is at 2150 metres, so you can enjoy stunning forest scenery on most of its slopes. Cross-country skiers will also have approx. 40km of track to explore. The north side of the area offers a large variety of activities and magnificent scenery. Resorts in Serre Chevalier

The Serre Chevalier Vallée consists of several authentic alpine villages, including Briancon, Chantemerle, Monêtiers-Les-Bains, and Villeneuve. Briancon is located at the foot of the slopes and is a traditional village known for its art and its history. Chantemerle, also known as Serre-Chevalier 1350, is situated in between Briancon and Villeneuve. It is a cosy ski village with a large town square and several shops and bars. Villeneuve, or Serre-Chevalier 1400, is in a central location in Serre Chevalier and is another beautiful, historic village. Last but certainly not least, Le Monêtier-les-Bains (Serre-Chevalier 1500) has more of a rural feel in comparison to the other villages and is known for its hot springs. Serre Chevalier boarders the Ecrin National Park, giving you access to stunning hiking trails, spectacular scenery, and a varied ski area.
