At the edge of the ski resort of La Plagne are the two mountain villages Montchavin and Les Coches. Montchavin is located at 1250m altitude and Les Coches at 1450m altitude. Montchavin is originally an old farming village while Les Coches was newly built in 1973.
Both villages have their own ski area with mainly red and blue pistes. When choosing a ski holiday in Les Coches, you have the advantage that of all of the different villages in Paradiski it has the most central location with regards to access to both Les Arcs and La Plagne. After heading up the lift, take a short blue run to gain access to the Vanoise Express. This takes you to Les Arcs in no time!
For anyone that is looking for a long ski day, be sure to head to La Plagne. Challenge yourself to the 10km descent that starts from Roche de Mio (2,700 m) and ends in Montchavin. The ski packages from Sunweb in Montchavin and Les Coches all include a lift pass for the entire area of La Plagne.
The resort centers are made up of narrow streets, small squares and plenty of cheap shops. This creates an authentic and traditional French atmosphere. If you are looking for alternative actives besides skiing and snow boarding, there is an indoor ice rink, torch light descents and toboggan runs.
Skiing in La Plagne takes place in a modern ski area which is part of the Paradiski Region, consisting of the 4 different ski destinations La Plagne, Champagny en Vanoise, Les Coches and Montchavin. The highest point of this ski area is approximately 3250 meters, which means that a La Plagne ski holiday is very often a snow-sure ski holiday.
Skiing in La Plagne
Home to loads of ski lifts, a La Plagne ski holiday offers a total of 225km of slopes and caters to all levels of skiing and snowboarding experience. This makes skiing in La Plagne so enjoyable and diverse, and for those who want to challenge themselves on a long run, there is a 15km run in the ski area.
Although skiing in La Plagne offers enough within itself, be sure to check out the lift pass for the Paradiski region, which will you offer much more to your La Plagne ski holiday. Sunweb offers many variants of a La Plagne ski holiday from all-inclusive with flights or a self-drive holiday, there is something for everyone.
