Brides-les-Bains

Brides-les-Bains is a romantic village in the ski resort of Les Trois Vallées. The village is known for its thermal baths. Despite the low altitude of Brides-les-Bains (600 meters) it is still a popular winter destination. This is partly due to Meribel ski lifts, which offers access to the entire ski area of Les Trois Vallées. In the atmospheric center of Brides-les-Bains, you will find many shops, cozy restaurants and even a cinema and casino! Here you can combine a peaceful stay with a great ski!

Map

Les Trois Vallées

More than 250 ski lifts connect the three valleys (Saint-Bon, Les Allues, & Belleville) of Les Trois Vallées, creating an immense area with more than 600 kilometres of slopes. This makes it one of the largest connected ski areas in the world. With 85% of its slopes above 1800 metres, glacier skiing, and 2400 snow cannons, the area is very snow-sure and you can ski there from November up until mid-May.

Skiing in Les Trois Vallées

You will find slopes suited to all skill levels in Les Trois Vallées, France: the number of black and red slopes there is roughly the same as the number of green and blue. There really is something for everyone to enjoy there. Its beautiful pine forests create stunning scenery on the slopes. Those who don't like skiing the same run twice definitely shouldn’t miss the Grand Tour de Trois Vallées. It is a beautiful route for advanced skiers that will take you through the entire ski area in one day. Freestylers can go wild at the six snowparks in Les Trois Vallées, featuring creative obstacles and boardercross events.

Multiple ski areas in one

The Les Trois Vallées ski area consists of several smaller ski areas, namely Val Thorens, Les Menuires, Méribel, and Vallée de Courchevel. The most popular (and highest) ski resort in Les Trois Vallées is Val Thorens, well-known for its lively après-ski scene and nightlife. But that’s not all Les Trois Vallées has to offer! How about a trip to the stylish Courchevel or the authentic St. Martin de Belleville? In Les Trois Vallées, there is something for everyone.

Val Thorens is mostly suitable for intermediate skiers and partygoers. Les Menuires has a total of 160 kilometres of slopes to enjoy and is very accessible for beginners. Méribel features two Olympic runs, a slalom slope, and a freestyle park. In Courchevel, you will have 150 kilometres of wide, varied slopes to discover. There are also special ‘Zen’ areas there, which are perfect for beginners of all ages to practice in a safe environment.

What to do besides skiing?

In such a gigantic ski area, you can of course do more than just race down the slopes on your skis or snowboard. Why not go on a beautiful snowshoe hike, a cross-country ski tour, or a thrilling zipline? You can even take an unforgettable helicopter flight over the snow-capped mountains, or float over the stunning landscape in a hot air balloon. Are you a bit of an adrenaline junkie? Then hang gliding or paragliding is perfect for you!

Culinary delights

Foodies will be spoilt for choice in Les Trois Vallées. Restaurant Le Chabichou in Courchevel has no less than two Michelin stars and is a must-visit. Chef Stéphane Buron creates inventive, refined, and generous dishes using fresh and natural ingredients. Would you like to learn from professional chefs? You can! There are courses twice a week, where you can learn the tricks of the trade and new techniques.

Restaurant La Bouitte in St. Martin de Belleville is run by father and son team René and Maxime Meilleur. They also have the honour of being awarded 2 Michelin stars, and together they create gastronomic masterpieces time and again. They have a love for the Les Trois Vallées region that inspires all of their dishes.
