Beautifully situated around the Weissee is the fantastic ski area Weissee Gletscherwelt. Despite the name, this ski area is not located on a glacier, but the Weissee Gletscherwelt is surrounded by high peaks of up to 3000 metres. The area covers a huge distance in height: the base station is at about 1400 metres, whereas the highest ski lift is at 2760 metres. Thanks to its high elevation, this area is snow-sure until late spring.
Five ski lifts can take you to more than twenty kilometres of slopes. It is mostly suitable for families with small children and slightly more advanced ski enthusiasts. But those who love off-piste skiing can also indulge themselves here; the area is getting more and more famous amongst freeriders and therefore has an extra large 'freeride area'. In addition to skiing, this area also offers ice climbing, snowshoeing, dog sledding, and tobogganing.
