Pichl is a cosy picturesque village which lies between Schladming and Mandling. The village is a collection of farmhouses scattered throughout the valley. This part of the valley still has a traditional and rustic character and is very serene. There is ample parking space at the bottom of the lift station and also several restaurants and shops. Opposite the campground, in the village, you will be able to find several good restaurants that are relatively inexpensive. Although there are several bars and pubs, this quiet village does not offer many apres-ski possibilities.
The “house mountain” of Pichl is the Reiteralm, which is about a kilometre from Pichl. Reiteralm is part of the Schladming-Dachstein Ski Area. The Reiteralm mountain is the perfect entrance to this 4 mountain ski region where skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the 167Km of prepared slopes and lift systems.
Pichl is very popular with families due to its affordable prices and great range of slopes. The red slopes of the Reiteralm and the Hochwurzen are wide and undulating, making it suitable for less experienced skiers. There is also good access to alternative ski resorts such as Schladming and Dachstein which is part of the even greater ski region of Ski Amadé.
