Skiing in Lienz

General information

Lienz is a picturesque Tyrolean town with a beautiful, historic centre. It is located at the foot of the Lienz Dolomites, close to the Italian border. Lienz is also the city with the most hours of sunshine in Austria, with an average of just over 200 hours of sunshine in January! More than 100 kilometres of cross-country trails are also offered for non-skiers. Besides skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and hiking, you can also go tobogganing, curling, paragliding, or visit the ice rink. In the old town, you will find many shops, restaurants, bakeries, bars, and a cinema to enjoy.

For Lienz, a SkiHit ski pass is included. SkiHit is the perfect destination for ski enthusiasts looking for a great mix of adventure, relaxation, and atmosphere. The area includes the charming villages of Snowville, Alpensicht, and Bergdorf, each with their own unique charm. With sub-areas such as the challenging Hochalp Arena, the child-friendly Familienpark, and the breathtaking Sonnenplateau Trails, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The ski area offers miles of pristine slopes, from gentle blue runs to challenging black runs. After a day full of adventure in the mountains, you can enjoy local specialities in one of the atmospheric après-ski bars or excellent restaurants. Thanks to the modern ski lifts and an extensive ski bus network there, you will be at your favourite spot in no time. Whether you’re travelling with friends, family, your partner, or solo, SkiHit has everything you’ll need for an unforgettable ski experience!
