The Hochpustertal in Osttirol is a ski area that benefits from a fantastic snow record. It is also very well laid out so benfits from hardly any queues at the lifts. The locals are also particularly hospitable and help create a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. The area is divided into the Obertilliach-Golzentipp and the Skizentrum Hochpustertal Thurntaler where the altitude varies from approximately 1100 metres (3,600 ft) up to 2407 metres (7,900 ft). At many spots you can enjoy breathtaking views and the resort also has some great off-piste trails. The lower prices in the area help make it even more attractive. Snowboarders can also enjoy themselves in either of the two snow parks.
The lift pass Ski Hit is valid in the areas of Matrei and Kals, Hochpustertal, Heiligenblut, Lienz, St. Jakob, Obertilliach and Kartitsch. Together this totals more than 170 km (106 ml) of pistes. Between Sillian, Obertilliach and Kartitsch there is a connecting ski bus service.
