Alpenhotel Edelweiss is a cosy hotel in a traditional alpine style. This comfortable hotel is in a very central location in Maurach. The rooms are simply furnished but include a TV and a nice private bathroom. Almost all of the rooms also feature a balcony with a lovely view of the surroundings. Alpenhotel Edelweiss is located right next to the Rofanbahn, which will take you to the centre of the ski area in just a few minutes.
After a long day outdoors, you can enjoy a well-deserved drink by the fireplace at the elegant hotel lounge. Or why not relax in the sauna or Turkish steam bath? In the evening, you can enjoy traditional Austrian dishes at the authentic inhouse restaurant.

Maurach
The friendly village of Maurach has a rural feel to it and is situated on the banks of the Achensee at the foot of densely forested hills. This is a great area to hike in. Maurach is located at an altitude of 950 meters and the Rofan cable car transports you to an altitude of almost 1900 meters to a tougher ski resort with various off piste options. In the village you will find a practice piste with a beginners lift, the meeting point for the ski school, the public swimming pool, the sauna and the fitness centre. With a steady snow record and more than 160 kilometers of tracks around the Achensee this is also a true paradise for cross country skiers. After a long day on the pistes the cosy bars, cafés and restaurants welcome you for the evening.

The Ski resort of Achensee is located in beautiful surroundings and consists of the villages Maurach, Pertisau, Eben and Achenkirch. The villages are located around the lake and together form the resort. This resort has good nightlife and some great pistes! So, for both true ski fanatics and those more interested in the apres-ski, there is plenty to enjoy here.
There are also many cross country tracks for those interested! On the sunny slopes of the Zwölferkopf at Pertisau there is 12 km (8 ml) of pistes varying in difficulty and in the Rofan area near Maurach there is another 14 km (9 ml) of pistes waiting to be used. Thanks to the ski bus connections it is also easy to access both areas and show off your skills on the different slopes! You will have no time to get bored here!

Snow chains are obligatory in the Alps. You need a toll permit for the motorways in Austria. You can buy the permit at the AA in the UK or in Austria at the major border crossings. The European Commission advises you to wear a safety reflector jacket in the event of a break down or accident. This vest can be purchased from the AA in the UK as well.

A Rofan/Maurach ski pass is included in the holiday price.
You can see the surcharges and discounts for extending your ski pass or no ski pass in step 1 (preferences) of the booking process. Ski passes for children born after 01/01/2018 are free. Children born between 01/01/2009 - 31/12/2017 will receive a discount on their ski pass. These discounts can be found in the calculation of your travel sum. Identification is required when collecting the ski pass.
Any surcharges and discounts are only valid upon booking. Other rates are applied locally. It is not possible to redeem the ski pass on another day onsite. An extension of the ski pass can often be booked as an extra; you will find the price for this further into the booking steps. The discount for “no ski pass” can also be found in the booking process.

This is ideal equipment for intermediate skiers and snowboarders. The equipment is manoeuvrable and suitable for cutting corners sharply. Even at high speeds, these skis provide great performance.
Gold
These skis and snowboards are made of high-quality material and are perfect for experienced skiers. They can also be used by skiers who have mastered parallel skiing. This comfortable equipment is suitable for all track types and snow conditions.
Diamond
These are high performance skis and snowboards with the latest technology and are suitable for the most experienced skiers.
